Tournoment "report"

So I am here again. First i think I will only write a post once or twice each month, dont think I can do much more then that. Right now I have taken a break from all minitures just to recharge my batteries.
So how did the Tournament go?

Well first of all I hade a wonderfull time, with some really fun and intresting games, and I must say I really did learn allot how my army Cold one knights army works. Even if I can tell I got a long way to go. So how did the game´s go? well I have 1 drawn against Filip and his Beastmen army, then I had a win against Jon and his ogres (the leder of the tournament) but not by much. then I got completly sloughtered against Robin and his WoC Juggernot army then I had a win against Alexander and his Dark elves army =).

so over all I ended up on 11th place out of 18 total, really glad with it since I was using a new army that I am still learning hadn't look what the scenarios where before I played the matches. And before all the games everyone from my gaming community did gues how well/ or bad they would do. I had guest that I would end up on 10th place but I ended up on 11. I take it such as I know my own ability's really well.

thoughts and notice

I havent been bothered to cear about this blogg for a LONG time, but recently I have been thinking more and more about it. Even if i dont have any readers I need to remind me that I started this for my own sake, and not for others.

So what have i been up to? Well I started with Warmachine and hoard in april and I must say really do enjoy the game, the race that I chose was Trollblood I cant get from the thing that they remind me of the Skotts with there kilts and there special and pricturial collor and patterns, and there foundnes of ale (not sure if the last part is really true, but hey they are part of the Grate brittan empire) and with that you must be blind if you cant drawn the resimblance to the Dwarfs! And the fact that the TrollBloods are fighting for there survival.

I even got my little sister to pick up the game, she also chose a hoard race the Legion of Everblight.

So how are things with Warhammer? Well in april there was the big Fantasia Finatic taurnoment and this time I did much beter, specialy when there was no Scenarios and I am more used to the game. I ended up at 29 out of 84 or something like that, I am really glad and happy with the resaults. But I must say that I am nervus about the tournoment this autom how the Dwarfs will do. Now that we wont be playing with ETC rules and I belive back to senarios, think there might be to much against me TBH. but there is no point taking out the lost to soon before I even have all the facts.

I have started with Dark elves now, might be abit of betryal but I always wanted to have Dwarfs, Dark elves and Wood elves. I have my sister all the wood elf I have and she´s have taken a intrest, Shes nearly done with 12 dryads and they are coming together real nicely.

With the Dark elves I am building my ownd Couldron of Blood from scrath, and its coming along quit well now that I have made some progres on it.

I am abit strest out Since I will anted a 1500Pts taurnoment on the 4 of Agoust with my Dark elves and I have allot of things still that I need to paint up before then. Just hoping that I can ge the couldron done to a acceptible standard so I can use it, if not I will need to get together a Dwarf list insted.

Trollblood Hoard

As the titel states I have bought the starting pack with trollblood and the "Codex" book for them as well, I must say that I have fallen in love with how these models look´s. Its been alot of work in order just to be able to prime them, have been some really bad mold lines on the figures face that´s taken up allot of time. Specially on the Troll Axer the the legs and the chest didn't even match so I have been forced to do allot of work with liquid Greenstuff.

On last Thursday our local warhammer shop open for the first time in the new local, and they had some special prices on things over the entire day. I was one of the first 5 there to buy so I got a 20% discount. I was able to pick up a pack of 16 dwarves warrior and 16 Thunders/quarrellers. And since I am starting on a Dark Elf army I got the codex for them and a pack of 16 warrior, and the battalion box even if they didn't have one in for the moment they order one in for me with the discount that I found was really nice, I also got a Elf caster from avatars of war that I am planing to use for my Dark elf army or even my wood elf buts its leaning toward DE. I bought some new paints as well that I will need in order to paint my Trollblood.

My local gaming store is moving to a new place and have been knock off of there metal stock of warhammer, WH40k, Lord of the rings.

This week I went there in order to see if I could find anything for me, and I did. I found several metal dwarf heros, a Runelord, a really good older BsB, Master engineer with GW and a Dwarf lord with a Sheild and a 1h weapon. I was really glad that I was able to find some LotR character as well, Gandalf the white, Boromor, Faramir and one of his captain, Eowyn, Aragorn, Gil-galad, Elrond, Theoden, Eomer and last glorifindel. I got all of these figure for a really awesome price, and I am so happy that I could find them all.

I have done allot of painting done this weekend, almost finished with my dwarf lord with the shield that I started on just today. Done the baste for my miner unit filler and when I am done with it will look really grate, and you will easily be able to see that unit its for.
I have been painting on my Gyrocopter the wings are almost 100% done just some minor metal things left on it, Started painting the engine, the cockpit and the tail of it.

I have also been painting on the Grudge bearers throne, and have come a good way on it, will soon be able to start painting with the glorious gold on it, have so far just been doing Tin bitz and bright bronze on it, and its starting to look really good.

I have been struggling putting together the metal Gyrocopter but today I finally got it together. I found the time to sprayed black and just started painting the propeller. I placed 2 magnets one on the propeller and the other on the engine.

Master Engineer

Yesterday day I did the finished touches on my master engineer and he turned out really well. With this character I did a cork base for him so it looks like he´s standing on a black rock. I painted him in quit dark green colours. I have also started painting my Runelord, he will also be standing on some cork.

Miners

I have finish painting 13 Miners in a table top standard and it feels grate! to be done with them! But I will come back later and try with the LoS effect on there helm since there is a candle on there helm. But for the 1500pts tournament I will need to have 25 table top painted miners and I need to finish the last bits on my 16 new warriors that I started on in December.

I have also started painting another one of the pony with a cart. That I will try to finish it before the 7 January in order to use it on the tournament on the 8th. So I wont need to rush 9 other miners that from another company that I am trying to figure out where I want what colours and such on.

A good news is that I have fully assembled the Syl-Iriah and I am planing on priming it tomorrow, now its time to figure out how I want to paint it. But I am looking forward to painting here.


Today for the first time I have done a base of Green stuff and it went really well. The base is for my High king Thorgrim Grudgebearer!

Building syl-Iriah, Spirit of the Woods

The several last day I have felt a urge to build together syl-Iriah so last night I started putting here together, Bending here wings and I am happy with the results and I used some liquid green stuff to remove the gaps where the wings and the body don't match 100%. I will post a picture of here as soon as I have taken one of here.

Dual wielding Dwarf Lord

The Dual wielding Dwarf Lord. I am really happy with how the model turnd out specially the orange beard and the Golden armour. Not sure if you can see the blue diamond on his left arm but it really turnd out great. There is some minor details left that I still need to fix but its table top finish.
